LINO, Faviany  and  PADILLA, Verónica. Agricultural knowledge of Tacana Town: Ancestral crops of indigenous communities San Silvestre, Macahua, Carmen del Emero and Tumupasa.. Apthapi [online]. 2016, vol.2, n.2, pp. 26-35. ISSN 0102-0304.

Agriculture is an important activity to the Tacana people. The knowledge about this activity was transmitted between generations and was built with the observation and experience of the know-how of its owners. The main tacana crops are rice, corn, banana and cassava, grown as a priority or integrated with others, which complement and guarantee an annual production, such as cocoa, pineapple, watermelon, peanuts, citrus, mango, avocado, papaya, coconut, cashew, sugar cañe, coffee, beans; native fruit trees; a variety of palm trees; and ancestral crops such as sweet potatoes, hualusa, purple potato, hahiru, tsídje, dalendalen, bats'i, paquió or pyre, among others. Make visible the know-how of ancestral cultures, can revalue the importance of traditional tacana agriculture and strategies to complement, diversify and ensure food for large populations and at the same time preserves the characteristic genetic diversity of the región.
