SUMMARY Previous research on regeneration of vertebrate extremities indicatesthat several mediating fac-tors are involved during the re-growth process. Although the phenomenon of regeneration does not occur naturally in mammals, it can be pro-moted artificially; The BioDome is projected to be a new experimental tool to allow a more systematic study of the impact of biophysical and biochemical factors on the regeneration of mammalian tissues and later develop as a ma-chinery that promotes the regeneration of large areas of human tissue.
