SUMMARY Introduction: Maternal Mortality in Chuquisaca has been one of the priorities in a historical way that has been investigated for several years and that has made it possible to make timely deci-sions and actions in the different actions. Objective: To determine if the maternal mortality ratio has undergone any change between the years 2008-2014 Material and Methods: The study is longitudinal retrospective including 157 maternal deaths between 3-01-2008 and 13-12-2014 in the de-partment of Chuquisaca. Results: It reveals a significant decrease in the Maternal Mortality Ratio, ie 140 in 2008 to 116 in 2014. Conclusions: This study shows that the Maternal Mortality Ratio if it has undergone changes that do not mark a linear behavior but rather there were promotions during the analyzed years 2008-2014. But it concludes with a de-creasing trend.
