SUMMARY Is a research and review of the literature about how stress affects not only the psychological functions as the capacity of relations in different areas, increases aggressiveness etc., but also affects physiological aspects, obstructing the recovery before any pathology in treatment. The implementation of a psychoprophiláctic program is considered to assist not only the recovery of the patient, but also to obtain the sup-port of the family of the same and this facilitate the work of the team treating. The application of the psychoprophylaxis, aims to provide patient information, containment, and the necessary advice in this way achieve cope with the fewest possible physical and psychological sequelae of surgical, endowing it with appropriate confron-tation mechanisms that lead to overcome the surgery successfully
