Summary Motherhood isone of the mostimportantevents in the life of women, but also one of the most dangerous, if social support and health conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period are notappropriate. In thispaperthe degree of knowledge of the female population of childbearing age about risk factors during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum in the Municipality of Culpina described. The study was a cross-sectional quantitative approach, descriptive as temporality, observational. A sample size of 125 women of childbearing age to which the survey was conducted was calculated. It was possible to determine the degree of knowledge of women of childbearing age about risk factors during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum is regular and bad, being that the study showed that women of childbearing age are unaware of the danger signs of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum while a small number of women have knowledge about
