    Summary Introduction: This research was conducted in the municipality of Sopachuy the Department of Chuquisaca. In this study the relationship between the level of knowledge and maternal mortality of pregnantwomen in the city of Sopachuy analyzed. To determine the level of knowledge about the signs and symptoms of alarm during pregnancy of pregnant women treated at the Hospital Lady of Remedies Municipality of Sopachuy during the months of July, Augustand September 2013 management. Material and Methods: This research was a quantitative approach observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, population consisted of pregnant women attending regular prenatal checkups. The collection method was through a survey. Results: 30% of women know not all warning signs and symptoms of pregnancy. Most recognized for expectant mothers treated at the Hospital of Sopachuy, signs and symptoms were swelling, vaginal bleeding, and fever. Discussion: 63% of pregnantwomen surveyed made his fourth control and 37% performing the second and third control respectively. We must continue working on quality of care.
