    Resumen

    Introduction. Tuberculosis remains one of the public health problems more serious in the world, adherence to treatment is considered as the main target for its control, contributing to the effectiveness of national programs to reduce the risk of transmission of the bacillus. Objective. Establish which are the specific treatment tuberculosis adherence factors in patients over 18 years old with pulmonary disease, AFB positive test and subsequently cured, in the town of Tarabuco between 2010 and novermber of2011. Material and methods. It was made across-sectionalquantitative study. It was investigated10 peoplethat wereequivalent toall patientsrecruited bythe Tuberculosis Programduring 2010to November 2011. Patients were characterized for having over 18 years old, AFB positive test with pulmonary disease subsequently cured. It was applied a structured questionnaire guide with 14 questions to gather information. Resultsand conclusions. Knowledge of the risk of complications and acceptance and family support are the two main factors for tuberculosis treatment adherence in the study population. Regarding the intention of abandoning treatment was identified that was generated by adverse effects and rapid symptomatic recovery, and less important the possibility of self-treatment. The study population reported that the performance of health workers was acceptable quality
