Sternum fractures are uncommon, because very few cases reported in the medical literature, rai-sing great interest to know the correct behavior to be followed in these cases, morbidity and morta-lity are directly related to the severity of injuries organic and not specifically associated with the fracture. The case of a patient with a complete, oblique and displaced fracture of the sternum at the level of the middle third, associated with bilateral pleural effusion and T4 to T3 vertebral fracture secon-dary to a high-energy car accident aground 10 meters this highlights the importance of multidis-ciplinary approach for the first evaluation before a definitive surgical intervention and the technical aspects of it.
