AVILES JIMENEZ, Oscar M. BIM, THE FUTURE OF PROFESIONAL WORK. JBC [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.40, pp. 36-41. ISSN 2075-8936.
BIM (Building Information Modeling), as an evolution of traditional design-oriented software programs, constitutes the new paradigm in the management and development of projeets in the architecture, engineering and construction industry which, as a concept, orders people, processes and tools centralizing around a parametricand digital model (and database) of the building or product the work created by all participating agents, including remotely and asynchronously, offering an infinite number of possibilities when it comes to defining the configuration and scope of the expected result, identifying interferences between specialties and thusgetting ahead of project risk identification, performing energy and structural simulations, solving installations systems, integrating all product information with consisteney and thus, develop a useful and pertinent information according to the receiver, the stage and face of the project, the objective of the information generated and the necessary workflows for an effective and efficient performance that generate savings during the life cycle of the projects and its use.
