Abstract

Escherichia coli y staphylococus aureus en anfiteatros de la universidad cristiana de Bolivia (Santa Cruz ,2009). Univ. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2013, n.11, pp. 7-11. ISSN 8888-8888.

This work is done in order to prevent contamination affecting the health of students, professors and laboratory staff of the morgue in Chris-tian University of Bolivia. Samples were obtained from tap, counters, door (outer and inner handle), whiteboard, stool, and desk. In samples obtained before sterilization was detected 88.3% of bacterial contamination; the room with the highest percentage was Room #1 with a frequency of 16% of Escherichia coli before sterilization. After sterilization it was found about 5% of the bacteria in this room 1. In room # 3 it was found the presence of Staphylococcus aureus with 11.7% before sterilization; this level decreased after sterilization finding less of 3.3%. At internal and external handles doors before and after sterilization, the presence of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus was detected, having no effect sterilization method. In samples collected from two different counters for each room before sterilization were identified samples with 1.6% Escherichia coli and 6.6% Staphylococcus aureus. In samples of tap, desk and whiteboard, was detected the presence of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus; resulting after sterilizing the presence of such bacteria only in tap samples found
