Abstract
ALGARANAZ, Jorge et al. ELABORACIÓN EXPERIMENTAL DE BIODIESEL. Univ. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2010, vol.1, n.2, pp. 39-41. ISSN 8888-8888.
The aim of this work is to produce biodiésel from new and used vegetable oil for testing in a diesel engine combustión. Biodiésel is a fuel substitute produced gas-oil for diesel engines without modification, and was based on agricultural commodities (vegetable oil) and methanol. The development of this fuel is really very simple to do. It was chemically altering the molecular structure of a cooking oil (not used) with the use of a chemical catalyst (caustic soda) and alcohol (methanol). Once the biodiésel was tested in a diesel engine, two cylinder, replacing the diesel (oil) for biodiésel. It was possible to have a good engine operation without any difficulty. Later tests were done in engine power, fuel consumption.
