    Abstract

LANTERI, Luis N..   Manufactured exports of industrial origin (MOI) in Argentina. Revista de coyuntura y perspectivas [online]. 2016, vol.1, n.3, pp. 2-22. ISSN 2415-0622.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the main factors that explain the evolution of manufactured exports of industrial origin (MOI) in Argentina, employing SVAR models, with long term restrictions. The estimations include quarterly data of this country, covering the period 1993-2015. It is noted that industrial production in Brazil would play a bigger role, than real exchange rate, to explain the variability of manufactured exports. Thus, the exchange rate would not have such a prominent role, as suggested by the theory of the 'dual economy', in vogue in the sixties and seventies.

Keywords : manufactured exports of industrial origin (MOI); industrial production in Brazil; real exchange rate; SVAR models.
