    Abstract

    The Southern Bolivian valleys ivere optimal zones for the settlement of human groups through time. They ivitnessed rich and complex social dynamics duringprehispanic times, manifested in the development ofbigsett-lements, extensive agricultural systems, long distance exchange networks, as ivell as a diverse material culture. Without doubt, the ceramic, ivith its particular styles, is a material offirst orderfor studying a ivide array of topics about past human groups, and to assign them a cultural affiliation. In this opportunity, data about the ceramic sequence that has being developed for the Cinti región, Southivestern Chuquisaca, ispresented, focusing on morphological, technological, andstylistic aspects ofthese materials. The information here discussed constitutes an important point of departure for developing archaeological research in the región
