About a Bolivian sculpture recovered in Switzerland

RESUMEN Esta es la historia de una pequeña escultura lítica que fue creada por las manos de artífices pukará de la cuenca norte del lago Titikaka, hacia principios de la era cristiana. Sin duda se consagró como un sacro ícono de esa formación social y permaneció en sus espacios rituales, hasta que la cultura sucumbió unos pocos siglos después. Pasó el tiempo y en la cuenca sur del mismo lago, surgió otra formación social, mucho más poderosa: la cultura Tiwanaku. Pronto llegó a la cuenca norte en su afán de expansión. Entre los restos materiales de la cultura Pukará, encontró a sus dioses, que de inmediato fueron incorporados al panteón Tiwanaku. En un alarde de tecnología, transportaron hasta su ciudad principal, un nutrido grupo de esculturas de diferente peso y tamaño. Entre ellas se encontraba, con seguridad, la pieza motivo de esta entr ega. Siglos después fue encontrada por campesinos aymaras que le atribuyeron nuevos poderes mágicos. En 1858 acertó a pasar por Tiwanaku un explorador suizo de apellido von Tschudi quien, de mala manera, se hizo de la pieza y se la llevó consigo. Permaneció en el Museo de Berna hasta 2014 en que se recuperó para el pueblo boliviano.

SUMMARY This is the story of a small lithic sculpture that was created by artists of the Pukará culture, from the northern basin of Lake Titikaka, towards the beginning of the Christian era. No doubt, it was consecrated as a sacred icon of that society and was kept in ritual spaces, until the culture succumbed a few centuries later. Time passed and in the southern basin of that lake, another society emerged, much more powerful: the Tiwanaku culture. It soon reached the northern basin in its eagerness for expansion. Among the material remains of the Pukará culture, the gods were found and immediately incorporated into the Tiwanaku pantheon. In a display of technology, Tiwanaku people transported to their main city a large group of sculptures of different weight and size. Among them was, with security, the piece described in this text. Centuries later it was found by Aymara peasants, who attributed new magical powers to it. In 1858, a Swiss explorer surnamed von Tschudi visited Tiwanaku and took the piece with him. It remained at the Berne Museum until 2014, when it was recovered for the Bolivian people.

Paradigms of the web and marketing 2.0 in the public libraries of Bolivia as a contribution to knowledge and information management

RESUMEN En las últimas décadas ha cambiado de manera sorprendente nuestra realidad de interrelacionarnos, sobre todo, la comunicación, la información y el conocimiento,¹ gracias a la incursión, desarrollo y uso de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y comunicación. Denominadas también la NTICS² han impactado en el desempeño del profesional en información, como en la terminología incorporando conceptos-actividades como: Web 2.0, Intranet, Gestión de Conocimiento, Redes Sociales, Marketing Digital, entre otros. El presente artículo analiza las tendencias actuales de la web 2.0 y las estrategias del marketing digital como una oportunidad y necesidad importante para implementar en las Bibliotecas Públicas de Bolivia, con el fin de diseñar productos y servicios de calidad de tal forma de mantener e incrementar usuarios/clientes en las Unidades de Información para satisfacer las necesidades de información.

SUMMARY In recent decades, our ability to interact has surprisingly changed thanks to the appearance, development and use of new information and communication technologies. Also called NTICS, they have had an impact in the performance of the information professionals, as well as in the terminology, incorporating concepts-activities such as web 2.0, intranet, knowledge management, social networks and digital marketing, among others. This article analyzes the current trends of web 2.0 and digital marketing strategies as an opportunity and an important asset to implement in the public libraries of Bolivia, in order to design quality products and services in order to maintain and increase users/clients in those information units and meet their information needs

The historical collection of the general archive of notaries of the city of México: : Depository of the historical memory of the Mexican capital

RESUMEN El Acervo Histórico del Archivo General de Notarías de la Ciudad de México es un patrimonio cultural de gran importancia para la historia y la memoria de nuestro país, y en especial de la capital mexicana. Los documentos notariales contienen información de utilidad para el conocimiento y la reconstrucción de la vida económica, política, social y cultural de sus habitantes; es por ello que su conservación y descripción ha sido una tarea fundamental para resguardar y difundir la memoria colectiva de la Ciudad de México. El propósito de este trabajo es dar a conocer a los investigadores y a las personas interesadas, las características de este importante acervo notarial y mostrar parte de su riqueza documental, como una invitación a su consulta.

SUMMARY The Historical Collection of the General Archive of Notaries of the City of Mexico is a cultural heritage of great importance for the history and the memory of our country, and of the Mexican capital in particular. The notarial documents contain useful information for learning and reconstructing the economic, political, social and cultural life of its inhabitants. Its conservation and description has become, thus, a fundamental task to preserve and spread the collective memory of the City of Mexico. The purpose of this paper is to present, to researchers and other interested parties, the main features of this important notarial archive, and to show a part of its documentary richness, as an invitation for consultation.
